The virtue of hope responds to the aspiration to happiness which God has placed in the heart of every man; it takes up the hopes that inspire men's activities and purifies them so as to order them to the Kingdom of heaven; it keeps man from discouragement; it sustains him during times of abandonment; it opens up his heart in expectation of eternal beatitude. Buoyed up by hope, he is preserved from selfishness and led to the happiness that flows from charity. 1818 Cat. of Catholic Church
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty." Psalm 91:1http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/valleystar/obituary.aspx?n=moises-m-salas&pid=158225297 I saw this as a "tatoo" on the back of a young woman at a restaurant in San Antonio Sunday, and at the time I had no idea what the verse read. I looked it up today and now I can write a bit on Moises Salas Jr. He had other endearing names like....Mo Mo, boy, Moses, DaDo and guero. He left our earth suddenly on Saturday June 23, 2012 without a word to anyone. He left behind many people who love and admire him. We are all still caught in a whirlwind of emotions. Emotions of disbelief, pain, heartache, anger, sorrow and more disbelief. His beautiful funeral celebration was a testament to his love for others and many came to express their love for him. We will all miss him terribly and without a word he is speaking now.
A hurtful act is the transference to others of the degradation which we bear in ourselves. Simone Weil
