This Day On Earth

IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND MY SILENCE, YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND MY WORDS.

My sisters' kitchen's

The kitchen.  Always in the kitchen.  We all gather in the kitchen.  It may be the smallest or largest place in any house, but my experience is that we always gather in the kitchen.
I can't really recall many memories of my Mom in more places than in the kitchen.   After she passed away, and whenever I came home from college, I always expected to see her  peak her head out of the kitchen.  I would walk in,  stand in front of the sink,  look down and stare at the floor she had worn flat as she stood in the same spot for years.

It's been a very long time since I have had the comfort of a sit in my mother's kitchen, but the wonderful feeling of peace and comfort of food and love and conversation has been replaced with a "sit" in my sisters' kitchen's.  I have (had) six sisters!  My oldest sister has also passed away, but I have many wonderful memories of the love expressed to others there.
I know that in my sister's kitchen's I can find a piece to a puzzle that I am always working on.   Tears and coffee and coconut cream pie and scrambled eggs mixed with tears of the eggs my Mom bought before she died.  My favorite place in a house.  The kitchen.

More Gone Fishin' Pics

More pics from J's fishing trip with his buddy Hadley.  They went with H's dad and a fishing guide.  It was a special time and we are glad that our friend Lee made it all possible.

Balance

To keep a perfect balance you have to have an extra bottle :)

Spring Break 2012 Part 2

We traveled to my hometown Luling Texas, on Saturday.  We spent the afternoon with the Grandmas and Uncle Shannon.  .  Bryden met with Given on Friday in Austin and the two met us all at the Oak Street house. The little ones were very glad to see  their big brothers Kindred, Bryden and Given.  The loving embraces they give to one another are always a delightful vision for me.  We sat around and visited and enjoyed the calmness of the cloudy day.  The sunshine arrived when Rebekah came to town that evening and we were all blessed to have the opportunity of a family dinner at the Ainsworth House Bed and Breakfast.  Lisa and Aaron were there as well, and while Monica was not there in body she is always a part of our family thoughts and conversations, and we always miss her.
One of my life's greatest pleasures is sitting with my family at the table to eat and enjoy each others company.  It is a banquet of love.

Spring Break 2012 Part 1

Our spring break started Friday March 9th, and  as always the "time" goes by much faster when you know that it is limited!  Our baby girl "bitty boo" tried out for Middle school cheerleader and made it.  We are proud of her hard work, and it paid off for her as she is now on the squad.  I only thought my "cheer mom" days were over!  She is excited and we are happy for her.
