Kindergarten teachers 2011-2012

Our "school year" is almost over. These are the wonderful gifted, soulful and talented kindergarten teachers on our Kinder Team.

At recess today I sat on a swing beside a little boy who is not in my class and he asked me if I was a First grade teacher. I answered that I was a kindergarten teacher. He proudly told me that he was almost a first grader! He then asked me if I was going to first grade and when I answered that I had already been to first grade a LONG time ago, he replied with a puzzled look on his face, "And now you're back in kindergarten?" I laughed for a long time, hugged him, and thanked him for making me smile. He smiled back.

Weekend thinking....

"It is perfectly true, as philosophers say, that life must be understood backwards. But they forget the other proposition, that it must be lived forwards. And if one thinks over that proposition it becomes more and more evident that life can never really be understood in time simply because at no particular moment can I find the necessary resting place from which to understand it—backwards."

A Life Perspective

A Life Perspective:  There is nothing so sobering as the loss of a young life.   Our school week ended on Friday with the usual  "Good -bye have a good weekend!"  This weekend was very different and I am again struck by how quickly lives can be changed.  Two of my fellow kindergarten teachers lost a precious loved one.  A sister lost her brother and a Mother lost her son.  We mourn along with them.  Each day is a gift and filled with much to be thankful for.  Each day has it's difficulties and concerns, but alongside are the tremendous blessings.  The blessings of health and love and the precious people God has put in our lives.    God's sweet peace to the Grimes family.
